Melania makes casual look fashionable.
Welcoming a group of Middle School students to the White House on Monday for an event alongside Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, First Lady Melania Trump surprised the fashion world, opting to dress causally by wearing a denim skirt.
For the listening event, Melania donned a form fitting denim A-line skirt below her knee from Agnona. The dark wash Agnona denim features a statement design of a trendy tasseled zipper in the front that went down the middle along with contrast stitching. The skirt from the Italian women’s luxury brand retailed for $1,590 on Modaoperandi and is now completely sold out.
During the event, Melania discussed with the middle school students about their lives, the issues they are facing and answered questions they had for the first lady. In one activity, Melania would ask the students to come up to the whiteboard and write down how they are feeling in one word.
“I feel today very excited and thankful because you’re here and we’re opening up the conversation,” she said. “Thank you in advance for sharing your stories and your thoughts about your struggles and triumphs. I want to help children everywhere be their best, so with your help, we can achieve positive results.”
Toward the end, one student who had just written that he feels “energized,” accidentally knocked a drinking glass off a table. He froze, but the first lady put her hand on his back to comfort him.
“No problem,” she said. “Don’t worry, it’s just a water, okay?”
